Before becoming a rapper, Drake a successful career as an actor on the hit Canadian show, Degrassi: The Next Generation. In 2006 he began to pursue a music career and released his first mixtape, Room For Improvement. He released the project for sale only and sold over 6,000 copies. Next, he released his Comeback Season mixtape in 2007 which had the single Replacement Girl featuring Trey Songz. The record did so good, Drake became the first unsigned Canadian rapper to have a video on BET. Since then, the rapper went on to sign a deal with Lil Wayne and Young Money and launch his own OVO label. Now days the rapper is continuing to expand his empire through fashion and sports.
