Alt J is an indie pop rock band that formed in 2007 in Leeds, England. They meet during their college years while attending Leeds University. After they finished college they moved to Cambridge to pursue music full time. By December 2011, the band signed a deal with Infectious Records. The following year they released their debut album. The band originally consisted of Gwil Sainsbury, Joe Newman, Gus Unger-Hamilton and Thom Green. In January 2014, the band announced the departure of Gwil Sainsbury. The band has continued on to enjoy a successful career while winning many awards and touring around the world.
