Pharrell Williams was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia on April 5th, 1973. He developed in interest in music at a young age. While in 7th grade he met Chad Hugo at a summer band camp. In the early 90’s they formed a group called The Neptunes with their friends Shay Haley and Mike Etheridge. The group performed at a high school talent show causing them to be noticed by the legendary Teddy Riley and signed with him after graduating. Since signing that contract he went on to achieve success with the groups, The Neptunes, N*E*R*D and Clipse. He’s also produced and wrote many hit records for other music artists. Today he’s still writing and producing music behind the scenes. But now you can also catch him as a coach on the talent show The Voice, a show based on finding musical talent.
