R&B singer J Holiday was born Nahum Grymes on November 29th, 1984 in the Washington DC area. He developed a passion for singing at a young age while listening to artists like Marvin Gaye, Jodeci and Boyz 2 Men. After graduating from school he began to pursue his music career full time. In 2006 Holiday signed to Capitol Records and released his debut single, Be With Me. Later on in 2007 he dropped his debut full length album Back Of My Lack. His album debuted at number 5 on the Billboard 200 chart and sold 105 thousand copies in the first week. After 2 albums, the singer left Capitol and signed to Island Def Jam. He eventually left Island Def Jam too and released his third album through his own label, Holiday Music Group. Now days he’s still enjoying a successful career in music and acting.
