DJ Envy was born Raashaun Casey on September 3rd, 1977 in Queens, New York. While growing up, he tutored under DJ Clue who he knew from the neighborhood. By the mid 90’s Clue introduced him to the mixtape circuit where he quickly rose to fame. While his popularity rose in the mixtape scene, he was also mixing once a month for Hot 97. By the early 2000’s his popularity was undeniable and DJ Clue signed him to Desert Storm Records. Since then, Envy has continued on to host many radio shows like New At 2 on Hot 97. He’s also worked with some of the hottest rappers in the game including Jay Z and 50 Cent. Now days you can catch him co-hosting the popular morning show, The Breakfast Club with Charlamagne Tha God and Angela Yee.
