He always had a passion for music growing up so he started a rap group in high school with two friends. They began gaining a lot of attention in the local rap scene which led to them opening for artists like NWA and Big Daddy Kane. Eventually he left for college, and while attending Florida A&M University he embarked on a solo career. Since then he has become a legend in the hip hop community known for his powerful lyrics. But he’s also branched out into the acting world and has appeared in numerous movies such as the Barbershop series, Wanted and Just Wright.
