Carl Thomas was born Carlton Neron Thomas in Aurora, Illinois on June 15th, 1971. He began pursuing his music career in the early 90’s while performing at different Chicago bars and clubs. While performing in the Chicago area he joined a local group called The Formula. He would eventually branch out and ended up traveling to New York, where he would perform at nightclubs on open mic night. During one of those performances, Diddy took notice of Carl and signed him to Bad Boy Entertainment in 1997. A few years later, this singer released his single I Wish in 1999. The song remained at the top of the R&B charts for six consecutive weeks creating a strong buzz for the singer. His debut album Emotional was released in 2000 and went certified platinum. Today the singer is still enjoying his success and can be seen featuring on many artists albums.
